About the show

The British Theatre Academy brings 13 The Musical, a unique and heart-warming Broadway hit, to the West End this August. With original music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County), this funny and moving coming-of-age story plays a limited run at the Ambassadors Theatre this summer.

The show follows Evan Goldman, a New York City kid, plucked from his fast-paced life and dumped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents’ divorce. Surrounded by gangs of geeks, posers and jocks, Evan sets out to climb to the top of the social ladder in his new home.

Can he find his place on the competitive pecking order or will be relegated as a social outcast? This hilarious and touching musical explores friendship, identity and the pitfalls of adolescence.

This unique production stars a precocious cast of characters, none older than 13, making it a favourite of theatre companies featuring young artists. In the original Broadway production the live on-stage band was also made up of an incredible ensemble of talented teens.

13 The Musical is composed by the multi-award winning Jason Robert Brown and produced by The British Theatre Academy. 13 The Musical follows the British Theatre Academy’s incredible 2016 summer season which saw the company bring The Secret Garden to the West End and Annie Jr, which smashed box office records at the Arts Theatre in 2015.

This funny and captivating coming-of-age tale comes the Ambassadors Theatre from 16th to 23rd August 2017.
