Ain’t Too Proud charts The Temptations’ story from humble beginnings on the streets of Detroit, to rock & roll icons in a politically turbulent era of US history.The Temptations’ signature dance moves and impeccable harmonies helped them rise to the top of the charts 0 with 42 Top Ten Hits - and they seemed to have it all. But behind the scenes several members of the groupstruggled with addiction, alcoholism and the pressures of fame. Personal and political conflicts also threatened to tear the group apart, but Ain’t Too Proud also shows how influential and timeless their songs turned out to be.
Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) directs this toe-tapping musical, which has a book by Dominique Morisseau and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Trujillo won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Choreography for his work on Ain’t Too Proud.
