Location

The Arts Theatre is a hidden gem between Leicester Square and Covent Garden, in the middle of the bright lights of London’s West End. The theatre itself boasts a private members bar and a cocktail club, with the amenities of Seven Dials and Covent Garden close by, providing visitors with shopping, eating and drinking opportunities. The theatre’s convenient location means it is easy to reach via public transport. Look at www.tfl.gov.uk before setting out on your journey.

Rail

The nearest rail station is Charing Cross, which is around a 15 minute walk away. After exiting the front of the station, cross The Strand and turn left onto Duncannon Street. Turn at the end of Duncannon Street onto Charing Cross Road, past the National Gallery, and continue onward past Leicester Square and right onto Great Newport Street. The theatre will be on the left, near the junction of St Martin’s Lane.

Tube

Leicester Square station is a stone’s throw away from the Arts Theatre, and is served by the Northern and Piccadilly lines stop there. Exit the station onto Charing Cross Road, and cross Cranbourn Street. Take the next right onto Great Newport Street. The theatre will be on your left.

Other nearby stations nearby include Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus and Tottenham Court Road. These are variously served by the Bakerloo, Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines. Walking times from these stations ranges from 7-15 minutes.

Bus

Charing Cross Road and Shaftesbury Avenue have several bus stops approximately 5 minutes from the Arts Theatre. These are served by bus routes: 14, 19, 24, 29, 38 and 176.

Trafalgar Square is about 10 minutes away, with bus routes: 3, 6, 9, 11, 12, 23, 87, 88, 91, 139, 159 and 453 all in the vicinity.

Car

Q-Park’s Chinatown and Soho car parks are approximately 15 minutes from the Arts Theatre, however this venue does not participate in the Theatreland scheme. Car park costs range from £22 for up to 3 hours, and £29.50 for 4 hours.

London’s Congestion Charge covers the whole of the West End, which costs £11.50 between 7am and 6pm. Travel after 6pm is free. Drop-offs are permitted on Great Newport Street outside the theatre.
