Please note that Austentatious has been postponed in response to government advice regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). It is expected to be rescheduled at a later date.
Performed in full period dress and with plenty of tricks under their bonnets, the Austentatious team take audience suggestions at each performance and devise an entirely new “lost” novel by the famous Pride and Prejudice author.
The show offers a fresh and hilarious tribute to the beloved author’s legacy, and with previous titles offered up including Strictly Come Darcy and Invasion of the Bodice Snatchers, this is Jane Austen as you’ve never seen her before.
Austentatious has enjoyed acclaim across the country, from Edinburgh Fringe Festival to a stint at the Savoy Theatre. It counts top improvisers and comedians amongst its cast, including Cariad Lloyd, Amy Cooke-Hodgson, Andrew Hunter Murray, Daniel Nils Roberts, Graham Dickson, Joseph Morpurgo, Charlotte Gittins and Rachel Parris.
Set design for the show is by Amy Cook, with lighting design from Damian Robertson. Each performance is also set to live music, providing a jaunty accompaniment to the weird, whacky and charming yarns spun on stage.
Dress up in your best gowns and tails: Austentatious is a delightful treat for the most eligible theatregoers in London. It enters high society – and the West End – for a Monday night residency at the Fortune Theatre.
