    Peacock Theatre
Argentinian dance company Che Malambo are bringing their latest work to the West End’s Peacock Theatre for their first visit to the UK this summer. The energetic, fast-paced dance captures the spirit of the South American cowboy, or Gaucho.

Created by Paris-based choreographer Gilles Brinas, Che Malambo depicts the traditional South American ranch culture where rival cowboys engage in competitions that showcase their strength and speed, called Malambo. Brinas draws on these contests from the 17th century and adds Bombo drumming and Boleadoras, a weapon made of rope and stones.

The all-male company first performed in Paris in 2007 and since then, they have travelled around the world bringing their dance show inspired by the gaucho tradition to audiences everywhere. The trademark of their performance is the zapeteo, a sequence of quick and elaborate footwork inspired by galloping horses. Brinas, a classically trained dancer and choreographer, fell in love with the gaucho culture and its duels when researching traditional dance around the world. He founded the company in order to share this rich heritage with audiences all over.

The are a limited number of performances from this extraordinary company, with the production marking the first time they are performing in the UK. Che Malambo has received critical acclaim around the world and has performed at many of the dance industry’s best venues. Coming to the West End for a limited time, the show plays at the Peacock Theatre from 18 July to 22 July 2018.
