The candle’s in the window and the kettle’s always on at the Phoenix Theatre! Get ready for a special return to Gander when Come From Away the Concert opens in London for a season of COVID secure performances in February 2021.
Inspired by the true events of 9/11, Come From Away is the story of 7,000 airline passengers who were redirected to a small town called Gander, in Newfoundland, during the crisis.
Welcomed with open arms by the local community at a time when fear and suspicion was rife, this heartwarming tale is brought to the stage with soaring songs from Irene Sankoff and David Hein including “Me and the Sky”, “Something’s Missing” and “You Are Here”.
Come From Away the Concert features the Olivier Award-winning musical’s current London cast and band, including Alice Fearn, Jonathan Andrew Hume, Cat Simmons, and Alasdair Harvey. The company will perform with minimal props and costumes in a stripped back version of the show.
With soaring music and a joyous story celebrating unity over division, join the islanders for an evening of good old fashioned Newfoundland hospitality when Come From Away the Concert opens on 10 February 2021.
