    Sadler's Wells

Dance, music and drama are combined to create this remarkable performance exploring loss, loneliness, giving up and carrying on. Animations and movement bring composer Nitin Sawhney's album of the same name to life in this powerful feast for the senses at Sadler's Wells.

Nitin Sawhney is an accomplished British composer, musician and producer working across a huge number of genres. On top of an impressive 20 studio albums and 50 or so film scores, he has written music for theatre, video games and dance. An associate artist of Sadler’s Wells since 2010, this year sees a special collaboration between him and dancer/choreographers Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez. Inspired by Sawhney’s album of the same name, this Dystopian Dream is the thrilling dance piece that addresses themes of isolation and loss.

Wang Ramirez is a dance company founded by the two dancer/choreographers grounded in hip-hop and multiculturalism. Between them, the pair have French, Hispanic, German and Korean backgrounds, and aim to create work that incorporates a huge range of artistic influences. Dystopian Dream is directed by Wang Ramirez and includes animated projections, theatre and live music. Performed by Ramirez and singer Eva Stone, it is a multi-sensory piece that is guaranteed to appeal to a wide range of audiences, from theatregoers to dance buffs.
