It’s 24th December, and Father Christmas has set off on his sleigh to deliver presents to children all over the world. At every house, he stops to enjoy mince pies, biscuits, mulled wine and other tasty treats but there’s a slight problem… by the time he reaches house number ten, he remembers he forgot to go to the toilet before he left the North Pole!

Packed full of witty humour and catchy songs, this energetic musical is brilliant fun for young children as the big day approaches! It includes some audience interaction including counting, so little ones can get involved and feel engaged too.

Father Christmas Needs a Wee Creative Team

Children’s writer and illustrator Nicholas Allen’s mischievous Christmas story is just one of his much-loved picture books, with others including The Magic Lavatory, Demon Teddy, The Queen's Knickers and Where Willy Went. His series Hilltop Hospital was also adapted for children’s television in 1999.

Allen’s irreverent Christmas story is brought to the stage by TaleGate Theatre Productions. The acclaimed touring company are experts at bringing together humour, music, and theatrical sparkle to shows that the whole family can enjoy together.

Their production of Father Christmas Needs a Wee is also an annual tradition: it premiered in Edinburgh back in 2013 to 5-star reviews and has entertained families across the country on multiple UK tours, as well as a previous West End engagement in 2022. Family blogger Broadway Baby said it best in their review: you’ll “laugh”, “join in” and leave “with a spring in your step”!
