About the show
David Bintley, Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet for over two decades, choreographs The King Dances. Bintley is held in high esteem for his creation of new works, such as The Tempest, Hobson’s Choice and Faster. His piece is paired with Ignite, by young choreographer Juanjo Arqués. Arqués is based in Amsterdam, where he regularly works with ballet schools and junior companies. He was chosen as the most promising young artist for this initiative that pairs a younger choreographer with one that is more established in the dance industry.
These new ballets from different generations of choreographers guarantee to show audiences the possibilities of dance, and what it can achieve. Paying tribute to pivotal moments in history, dance is used as a powerful method of storytelling. Fire and Fury - BRB plays at London's Sadler's Wells from 30 October to 31 October 2018.
