This production is part of the unmissable London International Mime Festival in 2019.

The London International Mime Festival is one of London’s annual arts and culture highlights. In 2019, Festival veterans Gandini Juggling are teaming up with Sadler’s Wells New Wave Associate choreographer Alexander Whitley on their performance Spring, which combines juggling with contemporary dance.

Gandini Juggling are at the forefront of contemporary circus, exploring the art and technique of juggling. Founded over two decades ago by Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala, the company aims to create shows that require audiences to actively engage with dynamic, ever-changing work. Their naturally curious ethos sees the company taking risks and pushing boundaries.

Alexander Whitley works within contemporary dance as a freelance artist and Artistic Director of Alexander Whitley Dance Company. He is also an associate with Rambert and a former choreographer at the Royal Ballet, where he trained. Spring is accompanied by an original score by Gabriel Prokofiev and staged with colourful set and lighting.

Spring looks at the relationship between dance and juggling in this visually stimulating, playful performance. This is the first time Gandini performs on the main stage at Sadler’s Wells, and as part of the world-renowned LIMF, they’re sure to captivate audiences with their awe-inspiring juggling and Alexander Whitley’s fluid choreography. Gandini Juggling and Alexander Whitley - Spring plays at the London venue from 31 January to 2 February 2019.
