Actor and activist George Takei makes his London stage debut in a musical inspired by his own childhood.

    George Takei’s London stage debut

George Takei stars in the UK premiere of an uplifting musical inspired by his own life. Allegiance, set in the shadow of Pearl Harbor, runs at Charing Cross Theatre.

When 120,000 Japanese Americans were forced into internment camps during World War Two, family loyalties were pushed to the brink. Sam Kimura believes that enlisting will prove his patriotism. His sister Kei joins the camp’s resistance movement. As the two siblings choose different paths, they must decide where their allegiances lie.

The Allegiance musical is created by Lorenzo Thione and Jay Kuo, with a book by Marc Acito. It transfers to London for a European premiere, with a newly conceived production for Charing Cross Theatre’s stage directed and choreographed by Tara Overfield Wilkinson.

George Takei’s Allegiance London cast includes Takei himself, Telly Leung as Sam and Aynrand Ferrer as Kei.

Takei is an actor and activist best known as Mr. Sulu in Star Trek. As a child he lived in US-run internment camps, an experience he has spoken about extensively both in writing, speeches and political work.

Don’t miss a special opportunity to watch a celebrated actor and activist in an intimate musical with George Takei Allegiance tickets.
