About the Heathers Musical

Welcome to Westerburg High, where popularity can be a matter of life and death. Social reject Veronica Sawyer is just trying to get by, but when she is unexpectedly taken in by the beautiful but cruel Heathers, her dreams of being popular seem to be coming true. Her newfound status is rocked by rebel newcomer JD, however, and soon Veronica learns that it might hurt to be a nobody, but being somebody could lead to murder…

Wickedly funny and whip-smart, Heathers The Musical is adapted from the 1988 cult film, which famously starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. Fans of the film can enjoy its biggest, bloodiest and most hilarious moments reimagined via songs including “Candy Store”, “Seventeen” and “Dead Girl Walking”.

Since its UK stage debut, it has become a sensation amongst young theatregoers and won the fan-voted WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical.

Creative Team

Heathers is adapted for the stage with a book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy, who notably worked on Desperate Housewives, and Laurence O’Keefe (Legally Blonde the Musical). Director Andy Fickman (She’s the Man) brings his eye for teen movie melodrama and comedy to the musical, alongside sharp choreography by Gary Lloyd.
