The beloved Christmas film transformed

Rediscover the classic Christmas film It’s a Wonderful Life as it is transformed into a stunning, uplifting stage production by the English National Opera this year.

In the peaceful town of Bedford Falls, it looks like it’ll be a white Christmas. However, banker George Bailey can’t get into the festive spirit, and feels that his life has amounted to nothing. When he is visited by his guardian angel, George is shown that Bedford Falls would, in fact, be a little less wonderful without him.

Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s It’s a Wonderful Life opera promises to redefine the story of hope and community for a new generation. The show is directed and choreographed by English National Opera newcomer Aletta Collins, and conducted by Nicole Paiement.

The It’s a Wonderful Life London production features a starry cast including Frederick Ballentine (George Bailey), Gweneth Ann Rand (Mother Bailey), Jennifer France (Mary Hatch) and Michael Mayes (Mr. Potter).
