Musical phenomenon Jersey Boys storms into the Prince Edward Theatre after a Tony Award-winning run on Broadway. Following the rags-to-riches story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Jersey Boys features a whole host of the band’s greatest hits, including “Sherry”, “Big Girl’s Don’t Cry” and “Oh, What a Night” amongst many others.
Set in 1962 New Jersey, with a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, the musical follows the four blue-collar boys as they form their notorious rock n roll band, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. After growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, the group are soon discovered and become a worldwide sensation, selling millions of records. With spectacular performances of their greatest hits, Jersey Boys is the electrifying true story of musical phenomenon Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, told along with the heartache, clashes with the mob and their victory as they rise to the top. With music and lyrics by Bob Gaudio and Bob Crewe, Jersey Boys features well-known numbers such as “Sherry”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Walk Like a Man”, ‘Oh, What a Night”, “My Eyes Adored You”, “Beggin’”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You”, “Working My Way Back to You” and “Who Loves You” amongst many others.
Ryan Molloy (On the Town, Jerry Springer: The Opera) stars as Frankie Valli, alongside Jon Boydon as Tommy DeVito, Eugene McCoy as Nick Massi and Matthew Wycliffe as Bob Gaudio. Further cast members include Dan Burton, Charlie Bull, Mark Caroll, Chris Gardner, Lauren Hall, Stuart Milligan, Jake Samuels, Jo Servi, Wayne Smith and Nicola Brazil. Jersey Boys features choreography by Sergio Trujillo, design by Klara Zieglerova, lighting design by Howell Binkley and sound design by Steve Canyon Kennedy.
Directed by Des McAnuff, who received an Olivier Award for directing The Who’s Tommy, Jersey Boys opened on Broadway in 2005. After receiving huge acclaim from audiences and critics alike, the production received several Tony Awards including Best Musical. Now, the magnificent musical dances into London’s Prince Edward Theatre, blasting out the incredible sound of the band that defined US musical identity.
