Arts Theatre

Racky Plews (American Idiot) directs and choreographs brand new medieval musical Knights of the Rose at the Arts Theatre London. A thrilling tale of love, blood and betrayal, this story of epic proportions combines rock ‘n’ roll hits of the 80’s and 90’s with the rich literature of Shakespeare, Chaucer and Marlowe. This eclectic new musical is not one to miss!

Racky Plews brings a brand new musical to the West End, playing a limited 9-week season at the Arts Theatre. Knights of the Rose is a brand new jukebox musical like no other, featuring classic rock songs by Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, No Doubt and more. Guaranteed to rock your world, this rock ‘n’ roll creation is a medieval tale of epic proportions.

Following the noble Knights of the Rose, who are tasked with defending their people and their own honour, the story infuses the rich writing of literary greats Chaucer, Shakespeare and Marlowe. A tale of love, bloodshed and redemption, the thrilling tale sees the ultimate battle of age and betrayal take place.

Success never lasts long in the world of this story, as the Knights’ valour is threatened by a greater evil at work in their kingdom, which seems set to destroy them once and for all. Can true love triumph over evil? Set against a back catalogue of songs including Bon Jovi’s “Bed of Roses” and “Always” as well as Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero”, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and more, this high-octane show infuses pop culture with a story evocative of Game of Thrones and Bat Out of Hell.

Creator Jennifer Marsden is qualified barrister from the English countryside with a long-running love of theatre. She began writing over 8 years ago, and this is her first produced performance, by her production company Romance of the Rose Productions.
