La Cage Aux Folles Tickets

Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman’s groundbreaking musical, featuring the anthemic “I Am What I Am”, enjoys a revival this summer.

Enjoy An Iconic Musical With La Cage aux Folles Tickets

The best of times are at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre this summer! The venue’s season centrepiece is a fresh revival of Harvey Fierstein’s popular musical La Cage aux Folles. This groundbreaking show features the anthemic “I Am What I Am”, and you’ll be singing it all the way home after watching this five-star “joyous” (The Telegraph) production.

About La Cage aux Folles

Georges is the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub famous for drag entertainment, his partner Albin is the club’s major attraction, and his son Jean-Michel is engaged to be married. Everything seems to be going well… until future daughter-in-law Anne’s strictly conservative parents ask to meet up.

Jerry Herman (Hello, Dolly!) and Harvey Fierstein's (Torch Song Trilogy) La Cage aux Folles is one of the most iconic musicals of the 20th century, and the first Broadway hit to centre a gay couple on the stage. It delights with farcical humour, sharp observations and an uplifting tale of family, all set to show-stopper songs.

In the outdoor arena of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, La Cage aux Folles is directed by Timothy Sheader, whose acclaimed revival of Jesus Christ Superstar transferred to the Barbican Theatre and shortly heads out on a UK tour.

Songs in La Cage aux Folles

One of the biggest musical theatre numbers, “I Am What I Am”, is in La Cage aux Folles, performed by Albin Mougeotte at the end of Act I. This empowering ode to acceptance and owning your identity was popularised as a single by Gloria Gaynor and is now one of the biggest gay anthems in the world.

Other songs in La Cage aux Folles include “The Best of Times”, “With You on My Arm” and “Song on the Sand”.

The Cast of La Cage aux Folles

At Regent’s Park, La Cage aux Folles stars Billy Carter (Sing Street; Hangmen) as Georges, Carl Mullaney (Chicago; Les Misérables), as Albin, Ben Culleton (Grease) as Jean-Michel, John Owen-Jones (Les Misérables) as Edward Dindon, Sophie Pourett as Anne Dindon, and Julie Jupp (Groundhog Day the Musical) as Marie Dindon.

They are joined by an incredible ensemble company that brings the bright lights, entertainment and Cagelles of Georges’ nightclub to life in spectacular fashion.
