About the Mrs Doubtfire Musical

When struggling actor Daniel loses custody of his kids, he decides to disguise himself as elderly Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a bid to remain part of their lives. Soon, Daniel’s alter-ego takes on a life of her own, lands him in awkward situations, and teaches him much more than he bargained for.

Based on the 1993 film starring Robin Williams, Mrs. Doubtfire brings the beloved story to the stage with hilarious effect and brand new songs, including “Make Me a Woman” and “I Want to Be There”. It opened on Broadway in 2020 and more recently celebrated its UK premiere at Manchester Opera House in 2022.

Mrs Doubtfire Film vs. Musical

Robin Williams made the film a beloved classic for a whole generation, and it’s no mean feat adapting it for the stage! The show has music and lyrics by Something Rotten! team Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell. Karey Kirkpatrick is the pen behind many hit films of the ‘90s and early noughties including Chicken Run, Over the Hedge and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The musical remains faithful to the film, so audiences will enjoy a fantastic dose of nostalgia - and all the best catchphrases and funny moments - made even better by new songs written especially for the show.

The Mrs Doubtfire Musical London Cast

Acclaimed stage actor Gabriel Vick stars as Daniel Hillard, AKA Mrs Doubtfire, in the West End. His extensive credits include tours of Little Miss Sunshine and Avenue Q - the perfect comedy experience before stepping into the heels of a role made famous by Robin Williams!

The cast also features Carla Dixon-Hernandez as Lydia and Cameron Blakely as Frank.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are Mrs. Doubtfire tickets?

Ticket prices range from around £27 to £190 depending on availability and performance dates.

What are the most expensive tickets for Mrs. Doubtfire?

Tickets in the middle of Stalls rows E-J and Royal Circle rows B-D are premium for this show. They promise clear, unobstructed views of the stage so you can enjoy the infamous nanny’s hijinks from the best seats in the house.

For musicals, the front of the Royal Circle is the best choice; seats like C18 and D19 have “outstanding” views and are at the perfect angle above the stage, which means you get a wide view of the entire set and choreography.

How can I get cheap tickets for Mrs. Doubtfire?

The best way to get cheap tickets for this brand-new musical is to book at least a month in advance for the most choice across all price bands. Flexibility is useful as well because tickets for performances during the week are up to 25% cheaper than tickets on Friday evenings and weekends.

Choosing cheaper seats to suit your budget doesn’t mean a bad view at this theatre; there are lots of very well-rated 4* and 5* seats that are good value for money in the back of the Royal Circle and in particular across the Grand Circle. Seats like Grand Circle B14 have an “excellent” view with a good rake, so you can see over the people sitting in front.
