About My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro is the story of sisters Satsuki and Mei, who move closer to their sick mother while she receives treatment in hospital. As the long summer months stretch ahead of them, they escape into the forests near their home and befriend incredible spirits including the larger-than-life forest protector, Totoro.

Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved 1988 film is reimagined by the Royal Shakespeare Company (Matilda the Musical) and original composer Joe Hisaishi. The film’s famous score is performed live with new orchestrations by Will Stuart.

My Neighbour Totoro was a sold-out sensation during its world premiere in 2022 and won six Olivier Awards including Best New Play - it was so successful, that it returned for another season over Christmas 2023.
