Two of the four pieces in the programme are by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot. The first is entitled Shoot the Moon, an exploration of the love between several couples set to a Phillip Glass score. The second dance is called Stop-Motion. Set to Max Richter’s music, it looks at the presence as meeting point between the past and future.
Crystal Pite worked with playwright Jonathon Young to create The Statement, a piece set in a modern day boardroom examining power, control and current affairs. Its relevance to modern day politics adds a striking dose of reality to the programme.
Inspired by the life and songs of Jeff Buckley, Marco Goecke’s latest work captures the reckless enthusiasm of a group of young lovers who throw themselves at life and love with total abandon. Goecke once again captures the essence of human spirit through dance.
