An electrifying new collaboration National Youth Theatre is set to surge new life into Frantic Assembly’s award winning production of Othello. NYT 2017 REP Company tackle Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, exploring paranoia, jealousy and murder at The Ambassadors Theatre.

In this exclusive collaboration Simon Pittman (Associate Director, Frantic Assembly) directs this year’s prestigious NYT REP Company in a breathtaking 21st century adaptation of Shakespeare’s compelling tragedy Othello.

Originally adapted in 2008 by Frantic Assembly’s Scott Graham and Steven Hoggett this bold and brutal take on The Bard’s classic text is set to transfix Ambassadors Theatre audiences once more with a fresh, talented cast of young rising stars, 26 September 2017 to 08 December 2017.

This ruthless reimagining uses movement and physical theatre to explore the brutal, fractured nature of modern Britain. The production’s dystopic world of paranoia, jealousy and murder expose the dog eat dog politics of 21st century life.

The National Youth Theatre is a prestigious training ground for young actors, boasting such notable alumni as Dame Helen Mirren, Daniel Craig, Sir Daniel Day-Lewis, Colin Firth, Rosamund Pike, Orlando Bloom, Sir Ben Kingsley, Timothy Dalton, Matt Smith amongst many others.

NYT’s Othello has an exciting pedigree with this being its first performance of the text since its acclaimed 1995/1996 production starring Chiwetel Ejiofor in the titular role.

Don’t miss you chance to catch the stage stars of tomorrow in this seminal Shakespearean classic as you’ve never seen before!
