Location

One of the several famous Shaftesbury Avenue theatres, the Palace Theatre is located at a junction between two major roads in the heart of the West End. With many excellent transport links nearby, the Central London theatre is a stone’s throw away from a variety of tourist attractions and amenities. From the boutiques of Covent Garden and Seven Dials to the buzz of Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, there’s something to appeal to everyone. Rail

Charing Cross Station is approximately a 15 minute walk from the Palace Theatre. Upon exiting the station, cross The Strand and turn left into Duncannon Street. Walk to the end and turn right onto Charing Cross Road, continuing for about 10 minutes. Pass the National Portrait Gallery and Leicester Square Station, continuing for a while until you reach the theatre, which is on the left side of Charing Cross Road at the next major junction, with Shaftesbury Avenue.

Tube

Leicester Square station, served by the Northern and Piccadilly lines, is about 5 minutes from the Palace Theatre. On exiting the station onto Charing Cross Road, turn right. You will cross Great Newport Street and Litchfield Street, then come to Shaftesbury Avenue. The theatre is on your left.

Piccadilly Circus, with access to the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines, is approximately a 10 minute walk from the Palace Theatre. Covent Garden and Tottenham Court Road stations are also within walking distance and provide access to the Central, Northern and Piccadilly lines.

Bus

On Shaftesbury Avenue, you can find bus routes 14, 19 and 38. On Charing Cross Road, there are stops serving routes 24, 29 and 176. All stop only a few minutes from the theatre entrance.

Car

The Palace Theatre participates in Q-Park’s Theatreland scheme, which gives theatre patrons 50% off parking costs at designated car parks. The Chinatown and Soho car parks are closest to the theatre, with pricing beginning at £22 for up to 3 hours, and £29.50 for 4 hours.

The Congestion Charge Zone covers the entirety of the West End, with a cost of £11.50 between 7am and 6pm. Travel outside of these hours is free of charge. The area immediately in front of the theatre is pedestrianised, but passengers may be dropped off on either Shaftesbury Avenue or Romilly Street.
