    Sadler's Wells

Sadler's Wells is turning twenty years old and to mark the occasion, they have commissioned three choreographers to create brand new works. They are presented as part of one programme celebrating British the diversity and excitement of dance in Britain today.

Sadler’s Wells is dedicated to bringing cutting edge, new dance to its London stage. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their current venue, they have commissioned pieces by three UK-based choreographers: Alesandra Seutin, Julie Cunningham and Botis Seva. Reckonings is the triple-bill that showcases some of Britain’s best dance talent, exploring themes and styles that will stimulate and challenge audiences.

Alesandra Seutin runs Vocab Dance Company, a company that creates contemporary and urban dance influenced by traditional African Dance. Seutin brings her multinational upbringing into her work that she has been making with her company that she founded in 2007.

Julie Cunningham trained at Rambert and has been working professionally for 15 years. Last year, she launched her own company to create dance that examines themes surrounding gender identity. She is currently a choreography fellow at Rambert.

Botis Seva founded Far From the Norm in 2009, with which he has been creating work addressing socio-political issues. He draws on theatre, outdoor and immersive performance conventions in his contemporary dance work.

These brand new pieces will undoubtedly push the boundaries of contemporary dance, playing for a strictly limited number of performances at Sadler's Wells. A fresh, inventive production from Britain’s best young dance innovators, Reckonings plays at the London venue from 11 October to 13 October 2018.
