The Royal Festival Hall is located within the Southbank Centre complex, where you can also find the
Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room venues. Nearby, you can find tourist attractions including the South Bank, London Eye, London Dungeon, Sea Life Centre, Shrek’s Adventure, and cultural institutions including the BFI and the National Theatre.
The South Bank is a large pedestrianised riverside walkway offering scenic views of central London. There are many indoor and outdoor bars, cafes and restaurants in the area. It is advised to check www.tfl.gov.uk before embarking on your journey.
Rail
Waterloo Station is the closest rail station to the Royal Festival Hall, approximately a 5 minute walk away. Upon exiting from the main entrance, turn left and cross York Road, walking underneath the railway bridge on Sutton Walk. Turn left onto Concert Hall Approach, and cross over Belvedere Road. The Southbank Centre is ahead, follow the signage once inside to enter Royal Festival Hall.
Tube
Waterloo tube station is served by the Bakerloo, Northern, Jubilee and Waterloo & City lines. Exit the tube into the main rail station. Leave the station from the main entrance, turn left and cross York Road. Take Sutton Walk under the railway bridge and turn left onto Concert Hall Approach and cross over Belvedere Road. The Southbank Centre is ahead, follow the signage once inside to enter Royal Festival Hall.
Bus
Routes 1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 139, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 243, 521, N1, N68, N171 and N343 stop on Waterloo Bridge, a two minute walk to the Royal Festival Hall. Routes 76, 77, 211, 341, 381, 507, N381 and N76 stop on York Road, a five minute walk away.
Car
There are several free Blue Badge Holder spaces available outside the Southbank Centre on Belvedere Road on a first-come, first-serve basis. The nearest paid car parks for theatregoers to use is the National Theatre car park, which is less than a 5 minute walk away. There is an exclusive evening rate of £8.50 available if you park after 5pm and leave before 1am.
