Singin' In The Rain Tickets

Palace Theatre

Based on the spectacular 1952 Hollywood film, Singin’ in the Rain is the all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza where audiences can experience actual rain onstage! Singin’ in the Rain is an entertaining evening of 1920’s glamour, mixed with iconic wellies and raincoats!

Chichester Festival Theatre’s hugely successful Singin’ in the Rain transfers to the West End’s Palace Theatre in a revival of a beloved classic musical. Adapted from the iconic 1952 film starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, the marvellous musical originally opened at the London Palladium in 1983, starring Tommy Steel. Since it opened, Singin’ in the Rain has been revived on countless occasions, becoming a firm audience favourite.

Similarly to the film, Singin’ in the Rain is set towards the end of the 1920’s, when “talkies” were introduced into the world of film, ending the reign of silent movie stars. Silent movie star Lina Lamont becomes disgruntled by the news, as she has a comically hideous voice. Lamont’s co-star Don Lockwood just so happens to have a lovely, lyrical voice and he soon begins to seek out an equally appealing female to dub over Lamont’s. When the beautiful Kathy Selden makes an appearance, the diva that is Lamont becomes furious and becomes hell-bent on sabotaging Selden.

Singin’ in the Rain contains a gorgeous, classic score by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed, with stand-out musical numbers such as ‘You Stepped Out of a Dream’, ‘All I Do is Dream of You’, ‘Make ‘Em Laugh’, ‘Good Morning’, ‘You Were Meant for Me’ and the iconic ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.

The Chichester Festival transfer will include the original cast members, with Scarlett Strallen as Kathy, Adam Cooper as Don and Katherine Kingsley as the lascivious Lina Limont. Directed by Jonathan Church, Singin’ in the Rain features choreography by Andrew Wright and the all-important rain-based design by Walter Sculptures Limited.
