Overview

The British Theatre Academy brings another classic children’s tale to the West End stage from July 2017. Adapted for stage by the award-winning Broadway and Disney writing duo Neil Bartram and Brian Hill, The Adventures of Pinocchio promises to be a captivating treat for all the family.

Based on Carlo Collodi's classic tale, the musical follows the traditional Italian story of a wooden puppet yearning to be a real boy. Carved out of wood by the lonesome toymaker Geppetto, Pinocchio comes to life and embarks on an incredible series of mishaps and adventures. After a joyous odyssey of danger and discovery, the young boy learns all he truly-needs an unselfish heart and the love of his father.

The Adventures of Pinocchio is considered a canonical piece of children's literature. The beautiful children’s story has inspired hundreds of new editions, merchandising, movies, such as Walt Disney's iconic animated version, and has been translated into over 260 languages worldwide.

The Adventures of Pinocchio follows the British Theatre Academy’s incredible 2016 summer season which saw the company bring The Secret Garden to the West End and Annie Jr, which smashed box office records at the Arts Theatre in 2015.

BTA’s family musical is an exciting new production of this timeless story, brought to the stage by special arrangement with R&H Theatricals. Guaranteed to enchant the whole family, this classic tale arrives at the Ambassadors Theatre from the 26th July and runs till the 30th of August 2017.

Loved this production of Pinocchio from the British Theatre Academy. All the children were extremely talented. We saw the cast with Lucas as Pinocchio and Sam as Lampwick - a perfect combo. Loved the puppeteer. Very impressed with how the cast moved the scenery into place during scene changes.

We enjoyed the show and thought the cast were very talented. There were a few technical issues ie light being turned on for puppet show and Pinocchio had a few issues moving some of the set but apart from that it was very enjoyable.
