After becoming the fastest-selling touring production, Take That’s smash-hit new musical The Band plays at the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket for a strictly limited 50 performances. Featuring greatest hits from Take That’s back catalogue, the hilarious and heart-felt production has quickly become an audience favourite.
It’s 1992 and an inseparable group of 16-year-old girls are completely devoted to their favourite band. Fast-forward 25 years, and that same group of friends reunite with the goal of meeting the boyband heroes of their teen years.
Written by Tim Firth (The Girls, Neville’s Island, Our House), the new musical premiered in Manchester in 2018 before embarking on a national tour that quickly became the fastest-selling touring production of all time. Featuring a back catalogue of Take That’s greatest hits, songs include “Never Forget”, “Back For Good”, “A Million Love Songs”, “Greatest Day”, “The Flood”, “Relight My Fire”, “Shine” and “Rule the World”.
Casting Five to Five’s A. J. Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns, Sario Soloman and Yazdan Qafouri, alongside Alison Fitzjohn as Claire, Emily Joyce as Heather, Rachel Lumberg as Rachel and Jayne McKenna as Zoe, as well as Faye Christall, Katy Clayton, Rachelle Diedricks, Sarah Kate Howarth, Lauren Jacobs, Martin Miller and Andy Williams.
Produced by former Take That band members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams. Directed by Kim Gavin and Jack Ryder, the musical features design by Jon Bausor, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster for Autograph and video design by Luke Halls.
