Location
The Other Palace, formerly the St James Theatre, is located very close to Victoria Station and the nearby Apollo Victoria Theatre. An area that has undergone much change over the years, the theatre is close to shopping arcade Cardinal Place, which contains several chain restaurants for pre-theatre dining options. There are some pubs close to the theatre, and more retail options on Victoria Street. Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park and Westminster Cathedral are all within 10 minutes of The Other Palace. Victoria Station is approximately 10 minutes from the theatre. Exit the front of the station onto Terminus Place. Follow the road to the right, which leads to Victoria Street. Cross the street and turn right, walking along Victoria Street past the Victoria Palace Theatre. Cross Bressenden Place, and continue to Palace Street. Turn left, and follow this road for about 5 minutes. The theatre is on the left side.Tube
Victoria tube station is served by the Victoria, District and Circle lines. Upon exiting the underground, turn onto Terminus Place and continue to Victoria Street. Cross the road and turn right, and at the busy junction, cross Bressenden Place and continue straight. Pass Cardinal Place shopping arcade until you get to Palace Street. Turn left and follow the road until The Other Palace is on the left.Other tube stations that are close are approximately 15-20 minutes away. These are Hyde Park Corner, Pimlico and Sloane Square stations.
Bus
Several bus routes stop outside of Victoria Station, including: 2, 11, 13, 16, 24, 38, 36, 44, 52, 170, 185, 211, 390, 507, 761, 762, 763, 764, 765, C1 and C10. These stops are all less than 10 minutes from the theatre.Car
The Q-Park Theatreland scheme does not include The Other Palace, though the nearest car park is Q-Park’s Horseferry Road location. This costs £10.50 for up to 3 hours, and £14 for 4 hours. There is some metered parking near the theatre, with payment only possible via smartphone.The theatre falls within London’s Congestion Charge Zone, but it is only a few streets from the border. Driving within the zone between 7am and 6pm incurs a charge of £11.50 per day. Drop-offs are permitted outside the theatre on Palace Street.
