Emilia Clarke takes West End throne

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke makes her West End debut in The Seagull at the Playhouse Theatre. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the production follows his acclaimed re-imagining of Cyrano de Bergerac starring James McAvoy.

Set in a remote country house, The Seagull centres on a quartet of characters as they clash over art and love: Nina, a young woman longing for fame as an actress; Konstantin, an aspiring playwright; Trigorin, an esteemed but unfulfilled writer; and Arkadina, a glamorous actress fighting against the tide of time.

Emilia Clarke stars as Nina. Clarke is best known for playing Daenerys in hit fantasy series Game of Thrones, for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.

The Seagull is the second offering in Olivier Award-winning director Jamie Lloyd’s season at the Playhouse Theatre, which began with Cyrano de Bergerac and concludes with A Doll’s House, starring Jessica Chastain.

With the perfect combination of a visionary director, a highly anticipated star turn, and a classic play re-imagined, The Seagull tickets are a must-have for even the most casual theatre fan.
