The Tempest Re-imagined is a fantastic introduction to the Bard’s imaginative plays, conjuring shipwrecks and spells amongst the trees of Regent’s Park.When outcast sorcerer Prospero spies his enemies sailing on the horizon, he calls up a terrifying storm that shipwrecks them on his isolated island. With all of the players in place, what follows is a magical tale of monsters, revenge, romance and redemption.
The Tempest is one of Shakespeare’s final plays and has captivated audiences for generations with its fantastic plot and otherworldly characters including the mistreated Caliban and Prospero’s ethereal spirit servant, Ariel. In director Jennifer Tang and Unicorn Theatre's revised production, the story is distilled into 75 minutes and aimed especially at children aged 6 and above. The story and characters will be familiar, and the retelling thrilling for young audiences.
