Ushers: The Front of House Musical Tickets

After a wildly successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, smash-hit festival favourite Ushers: The Front of House Musical returns to a London stage for a limited season at the Arts Theatre. Previously premiering at the Hope Theatre in 2013, before transferring to Charing Cross Theatre in 2014, Ushers: The Front of House Musical is the hilariously bold, brassy new musical that tells the tale of backstage antics!

Following a team of front of house staff during a normal working shift, Ushers is a combination of ridiculously funny, moving and truthful stories of those aspirational ice-cream and programme sellers who dare to dream. When a preview performance of a new jukebox musical is about to take place, a new girl begins her first shift, a three-year work romance is on the rocks and the amorous manager is under pressure to cut costs wherever he can. What on earth could go wrong?

Ushers: The Front of House Musical features a cast of successful drama school graduates, including Ben Fenner, Cameron Sharp, Alexandra Parkes, Corrine Preist, alongside Rory Maguire (Shrek the Musical) and Harry Stone (EastEnders).

Directed by Max Reynolds, Ushers is an entirely original new musical, featuring music by Yiannis Koutsakos, lyrics by James Oban and Koutsakos, with a book and additional lyrics by James Rottger. With choreography by Russell Smith and musical direction by James Cleeve, Ushers: The Front of House Musical is the big, bold musical with fosse-like choreography and unique music. Full of soul, laughs and some backstage truths, this new musical is not to be missed!

    Performance dates: 25 Sep 2015 - 18 Oct 2015

Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes (no interval)

    Age recommendation: 14+

Special notice: Champions of original musicals will find Ushers hugely entertaining – fans of theatre will adore the barrel full of in-jokes! With sexual innuendo and a very surprising ending, this production is not suitable for young children.

    Best Seats

SeatPlan Recommends: Sit anywhere in the Arts Theatre for a perfectly clear view of the stage! It is best to sit further forward if you would like a more immersive experience, but the stage is raised quite high, so it’s often best to grab a bargain further back in the Stalls.

This show was so quirky and fun! I loved the music and the characters and the diversity in the actors and characters portrayed. I liked that the set was simple, it didn't need anything more, plus it was having to work round the set that was in place for american idiot and they did it so well. The theatre is quite dark and that would be my only criticism for this show that the lighting just seemed to emphasise the darkness? The actors where hilarious and I loved that they interacted with the audience at the start and end! A great new show!
