Vamos Cuba was the spectacular summer dance show oozing with vibrancy from acclaimed Cuban choreographer Nilda Guerra and the creators of smash-hit dance sensation Havana Rakatan. Vamos Cuba opened at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre in summer 2016.
Vamos Cuba was the summer dance show oozing with life and vibrancy, from the dance company who brought you the hugely popular sensation Havana Rakatan and Cuban choreographer Nilda Guerra.
Vamos Cuba takes place in the manic chaos of Havana airport in Cuba, where partners are reunited, families broken apart and time flies when you’re having a good time. It is somewhere for new starts and old flames, where reality comes to call and dreams take off. The show allowed you to experience the love, joy and vitality of Cuban life with the passion, humour and good times that is the embodiment of national spirit.
The show offered a varied and energetic medley of both modern and traditional dance styles, including salsa, rumba, cha-cha-cha and reggaeton, with a spectacular live band led by Julito Padron, a DJ and a cast of the very best and most exciting dancers to have come from Cuba.
Vamos Cuba was more than just a show however, it was a whole experience. Audiences headed down to Sadler’s Wells Theatre early to experience the joys of the Rumba Rum Bar and take part in a free salsa class as part of the whole experience.
With an energetic and riotous evening of live music and some of the best dancing in the world, Vamos Cuba was the perfect London dance event to get your summer evening sizzling. With shows having began on 26th July 2016 and the production having had its official opening night on the 28th July 2016, Vamos Cuba ran until 21st August 2016 and was the sizzling dance hit of the summer.
