    Acclaimed contemporary choreographer Wayne McGregor returns to London's Sadler's Wells this summer with his his powerful performance Autobiography, playing for a strictly limited number of July performances. Working alongside leading geneticists, McGregor’s visceral production explores his autobiography in a thrilling fusion of science and dance.

    Workshopped and rehearsed from McGregor’s own studio in the heart of London’s technology and media centre Here East, Wayne McGregor - Autobiography is a stunning collision between history, art and science.

    A bold and intimate collaboration sees the artist allow world-leading geneticists to study his entire genome, aiming to excavate the fundamental building blocks of his personal history. The performance combines elements of memoir, documentary and genetic analysis, filtered through the lens of human imagination.

    With stunning contemporary dance, the result is a breathtaking, visual quest into the artist’s ancestral past, which explores identity and biological legacy.

    Autobiography includes set design by Ben Cullen Williams, with music by electronic musician Jlin and lighting design by McGregor’s long-standing collaborator and award-winning designer Lucy Carter.

    A progressive and exhilarating production, Wayne McGregor - Autobiography plays a strictly limited number of performances at Sadler’s Wells from 26 July to 28 July 2018.
