Where is Peter Rabbit? tickets

The world of Beatrix Potter has been given the puppetry treatment in the enchanting children’s show Where is Peter Rabbit?. Based on the original tales of friendly farm and woodland animals, the play combines songs and storytelling for the whole family to cherish. The Beatrix Potter musical adventure returns to the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 20 July.

Hang out with mischievous Peter Rabbit himself. Be ready to flee at the arrival of angry Mr McGregor, do a little laundry with kind Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and soar to giddy heights with Jemima Puddle-Duck. The show is embellished with 14 joyful songs, all of which are performed live, and featuring lyrics by beloved British playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn. Using handcrafted puppetry, masks and dancing, the show is a beautiful way to introduce the little ones to Beatrix Potter and perfect for grown-ups who want to relish the nostalgic glow of these enduring characters.

Listen out for the familiar voiceovers helping to tell the story: BAFTA Award-winning Miriam Margoyles (Call the Midwife, the Harry Potter films) and Olivier Award-winning Griff Rhys Jones (Not the Nine O'Clock News, It'll be Alright on the Night).

The piece is devised by Roger Glossop and directed and choreographed by Sheila Carter. Music is by Steven Edis.

Where is Peter Rabbit? is a charming and ever so innovative show that children aged 3-16 will adore. Join the fun at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 20 July 2019.

An Easter treat for the little ones which was enjoyed by the adults as well. There were some sound issues (music occasionally overwhelmed the voices). Some lovely songs and comic touches - more of this please! - and a simple set and props created Beatrix Potter’s world in front of our eyes.

Lovely sets, costumes, songs, and character puppets. I think the TV show has confused my daughter as she was always looking for Lily Bobtail but she sat transfixed for the hour although was desperate to see Peter Rabbit who really is only in the last five minutes. Nice surprise visit outside the theatre before and after the performance.
