Stephen Adly Guirgis' Pulitzer-winning play about a father and son confronting police brutality and gentrification transfers to Broadway.

A smart and funny Pulitzer Prize-winner

Pulitzer Prize-winning play Between Riverside and Crazy transfers to Broadway for an exciting new premier, bringing a darkly funny story of gentrification, police violence and family to the Hayes Theater.

Walter “Pops” Washington is a retired cop and widower, living with his recently-paroled son Junior. As rent prices rocket around their neighborhood, Pops and Junior are struggling to hold onto one of the last rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive. As sketchy guests visit and old wounds are re-opened, the pair face a new reality and a final ultimatum.

Stephen Adly Guirgis’ (Jesus Hopped The 'A' Train) play premiered with Atlantic Theatre Company in 2014, and was awarded the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as a Lucille Lortel Award and Outer Critics Circle Award.

The Between Riverside and Crazy Broadway production is directed by Austin Pendleton and stars Off-Broadway cast members including Stephen McKinley Henderson as Pops.

This sharp, funny play is due to take New York by storm this year; book Between Riverside and Crazy tickets early and don’t miss the hype.
