The 19th-century Union Square Savings Bank building was acquired by theatrical producer Daryl Roth in 1996, who could see a clear future for it as an Off-Broadway theater. It has played host to a number of successful yet unorthodox shows including De La Guarda and Fuerza Bruta. These two Argentinian circus and postmodern theater acts played at the theater for a combined 14 years.

The Daryl Roth Theatre’s unique but simple auditorium is a compelling modern contrast to the building’s grand exterior, characterized by Corinthian columns and Greco-Roman-inspired design. With an eclectic range of shows ushered through its doors, this bank-turned-buzzing performance space has proven its versatility as a major Off-Broadway venue.

The best views in Daryl Roth Theatre are from the center of Rows D - F; these seats are the perfect distance from the stage to see all the action unfold. If you want to get totally immersed, the best seats are in Rows A and B, where the actors perform all around you on the stage and runway.
