David Byrne's American Utopia marks a major cultural event set to songs from Byrne's 2018 album of the same name, alongside hits from his time in Talking Heads and as a solo artist. With a diverse and eclectic ensemble of 11 international musical artists including Jacquelene Acevedo, Karl Mansfield and Angie Swan, this musical concert set to theatrical choreography and lighting is sure to be an utterly unique event.
David Byrne is perhaps best-known as the frontman of Talking Heads, although his career also spans work as a one-man musician and as the writer of Off-Broadway shows Here Lies Love (2013) and Joan of Arc: Into the Fire (2017). He counts Academy Awards, Grammys and Golden Globes to his name, and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The show is directed by Karl Mansfield (The Last Ship) and choreographed by Annie-B Parson (Here Lies Love), with lighting by Rob Sinclair.
