Location

Greenwich House Theater is located in the heart of Greenwich Village, an historic area of New York City well-known for being a center of Bohemian living in the 20th century, and is the site of major moments in LGBTQ+ history. Sights worth visiting include the Stonewall Inn and Gay Liberation Monument; Washington Square Park, and the Friends apartment on the corner of Bedford Street. There are plenty of shops and eateries in the area, but central Manhattan is just a short bus or subway ride away too.

Subway

The nearest subway station to the theater is W 4th Street - Washington Square (A-F and M lines). It is four minutes to the venue from here: walk along 6th Avenue, turn left onto W 4th Street, then turn left again onto Barrow Street.

Christopher Street subway station (1 and 2 lines) is a six minute walk away, via Bleeker Street.

Bus

If you are getting the bus to Greenwich House Theater, the M20 stops at 7th Avenue/Barrow Street, one minute away from the venue. This service travels along 7th Avenue to and from Broadway/Times Square. The M55 route also stops nearby, at 6th Avenue/W 3 Street. From here it is four minutes to the theater; walk along 6th Avenue and turn left on W 4th Street, then left again onto Barrow Street.

Car

There are several parking lots close to the Greenwich House Theater, including Washington Square Parking on 5th Avenue, which is seven minutes’ walk away via 6th Avenue. Other options nearby include Washington Square Village Parking and Barrow Street Garage, just a few doors down from the theater.

Greenwich Village is a well-served area for taxis, and drop offs close to the theater can be arranged.
