Don’t Miss Gutenberg the Musical Tickets
Twelve years is long enough… it’s time for The Book of Mormon’s Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells to get back together! The comic duo returns to Broadway for hilarious Gutenberg! The Musical at the James Earl Jones Theatre this Fall. It’s a show they just couldn’t resist: a hilarious musical about a hilarious musical! What is Gutenberg! The Musical about?
Bud and Doug are best pals who really, really love each other. They love each other so much, they want to put on a show together. It’s going to be great - a proper life imitating art moment! Even better, it’s the funniest thing on Broadway since 1448.We know that doesn’t make sense. Broadway didn’t exist in 1448. But the printing press was invented by Johannes Gutenberg that year, and that’s the subject of the musical that Bud and Doug are writing… it’ll all become clear if you watch, but it might not all go to plan.
Gutenberg! The Musical is a fun, loud celebration of putting on a show, and all the foolish urges and pitfalls that come with it. Nothing matters if you’re doing it with someone you love, though, right? It first opened Off-Broadway back in 2006, and is written by Scott Brown and Anthony King, the Tony Award-winning team behind the Beetlejuice musical. It is directed by Alex Timbers, who also directed Beetlejuice and Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
