Since 2004, Mean Girls has defined a generation with its quotable one-liners and relatable story about finding your tribe at high school. Following an initial engagement at Washington D.C.’s National Theatre, Tina Fey’s new musical adaptation of the iconic movie is a must-see on Broadway. With Tony Award nominations including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Mean Girls the musical is currently playing at the August Wilson Theatre.

When Cady Heron moves from an African savannah to suburban Illinois, she finds herself welcomed into a pack led by the beautiful but ruthless Regina George and her loyal Plastics. Life at the top of the food chain feels powerful, but after devising a plan to end Regina’s reign Cady learns some hard lessons about friendship, loyalty, and being mean. With songs including “Meet the Plastics” and “Apex Predator”, Mean Girls the musical brings new life to a ferociously funny modern classic.

Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World) plays Cady in her Broadway debut. She is joined by Jimmy Award winner Reneé Rapp (Big Fish) as Regina George, Krystina Alabado (American Psycho) as Gretchen, Laura Leigh Turner as Karen and Olivia Kaufmann as Janis.

Mean Girls features a book from Tina Fey (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live) who also wrote the original film’s screenplay. Jeff Richmond (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Neil Benjamin (Legally Blonde on Broadway) provide music and lyrics, with other creatives including director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw (Disney’s Aladdin, The Book of Mormon).
