Royal Alexandra Theatre accessibility

Getting into the Venue

The Royal Alexandra Theatre is situated on King Street West, with step-free access to the Main Lobby, Box Office and Orchestra, through large, glass double-doors. If arriving from the parking garage located beneath the Princess of Wales Theatre, elevators are available on levels P1 and P4, which can take patrons to street level. The theatre is then a short 2 minute walk away.

Due to the age of the building, there are no elevator facilities, and the Balcony, Upper Balcony and some lower level facilities must be reached by stairs.

Customer Assistance

Staff are available for patrons who require assistance. Those who wish to transfer into assisted seating or wheelchair seats in the Orchestra are advised to bring a companion, however staff are also trained to assist.

The Yale Simpson Lounge is a large space on the lower level of the theatre, 20 steps down from the main level. Fitting up to 100 people pre-show and 300 post-show, the Lounge is equipped with a coat check, bar and restrooms. The Louis XVI Lounge is a private room on the main level that can accommodate up to 20 people, complete with bar service.

The Queen Anne Lounge is adjacent to the Louis XVI Lounge and can accommodate up to 15 people. The CAA Lounge is located on the Balcony level, 30 steps up from the main level. A semi-private room, the Lounge can accommodate 40 people, or 100 people post-show.

The Royal Alexandra Theatre is able to store items in coat check at the Yale Simpson Lounge, for a cost of $2.50.
