Copyright Policy
Understanding Copyright
Copyright is a legal protection granted to original works, including books, music, and, importantly for SeatPlan, photographs. It grants the copyright owner exclusive rights over how their work is used and who can use it.
Avoiding Copyright Infringement
SeatPlan respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects SeatPlan users to do the same. SeatPlan users must only upload photos they have personally taken. Share your own experiences, that’s what makes a great review. Please do not upload images taken by others.
Reporting Copyright Infringements
If you are a copyright owner and you find images on SeatPlan that infringe on your copyright you can issue a take down request using the “Report” button on a review, selecting the “Copyright, privacy or other legal issue” option, alternatively, you can email operations@seatplan.com.
The takedown request should identify, the copyrighted work, the image that infringes on the copyright and a statement that the use of the image is not authorised from the copyright owner.
How SeatPlan Enforces Copyright
Monitoring of Uploaded Photos
When SeatPlan users upload a photo an automated system scans it for indicators that the image might be under copyright and flags them to SeatPlan’s moderation team.
Despite SeatPlan’s best efforts it is possible for images under copyright to be appear on SeatPlan and so a take down request process is in place.
Take Down Requests
Once SeatPlan receives a copyright take down request the photo will be removed from the site within 1 business day whilst we work to resolve this dispute.
