Edinburgh’s highly acclaimed theatre scene has long been associated with the annual Fringe Festival, which in recent years has nurtured experimental new work including hit musical Six. However, the city is also a hugely popular destination for big-budget shows on tour. Anyone daunted by the long trip down to London’s West End can happily hum along to show tunes from the best musical theatre scores, right on their own doorstep.
2023 is a bumper season for Edinburgh musicals, with Olivier Award winners including Six and Disney's Aladdin visiting the city. Look ahead to 2023-24, too, when Wicked flies in for six weeks!
