Getting into the Venue

Richmond Theatre is located on Little Green, with parking available outside of the theatre. The main entrance has 5 wide steps up to the foyer, however there is level access to the Stalls through another door to the left-hand side, that venue staff will open. A drop-off point is located directly outside of the theatre.

All sections of the theatre must be accessed by stairs, as there is no customer lift. Wheelchair patrons can only access the Stalls, which feature adapted facilities. Theatre facilities are clearly signposted.

Customer Assistance

There is level access into the theatre Stalls, with staff on hand to assist with navigation. Transfer seats in the Stalls are available, but staff must be informed before booking, and it is recommended to bring a companion.

There is level access to the Stalls Bar from the Stalls, with a lower counter close to the door. The Ambassador Lounge is accessed by stairs only. An at-seat service is available for access patrons, where staff are able to deliver orders directly to your seat. Richmond Theatre has regular accessible performances, including BSL, audio description, captioning and relaxed performances.

An accessible toilet is located on the Stalls level, close to the accessible entrance.

How to Book

For patrons who require assistance or wish to book access spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Discounted tickets are available for access patrons and a companion, with price depending on the show booking.

Section Accessibility

Stalls

The Stalls are level access via an alternative entrance at the front of the building, which avoids steps and the theatre foyer. There is a gentle incline from rows H - T.

There are 4 wheelchair spaces located at the rear of the Stalls. Transfers are available into aisle seats, and patrons wishing to transfer are advised to bring a companion. Staff are available to assist with navigation to seats.

Extra legroom can be found in seats 1-4 and 22-25 of Row H.

Dress Circle

There are 15+ steps up to the Dress Circle from the theatre foyer. Handrails are in place, although this section is not recommended for access patrons.

Upper Circle

The Upper Circle is accessible via 30+ steps, which have handrails in place. This section is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
