You won’t want to miss this captivating take on a classic - book now!

What is the musical Brigadoon about?

When World War Two fighter pilots Jeff and Tommy crash land in the wilderness of the Scottish Highlands, they’re desperate to find a way home. On the other side of the hills, sisters Fiona and Jean prepare for a wedding. Over the course of a day, the pair's stories intertwine following a chance meeting in the strange, yet enchanting, village of Brigadoon, which oddly doesn’t seem to appear on any map... But not everything in the town is quite as it seems - will romance have a chance to blossom in Brigadoon, or will everything change tomorrow?

Brigadoon originally premiered on Broadway in 1947 and has been revived and adapted many times since, including a 1957 film adaptation starring Gene Kelly and an Emmy Award-winning television adaptation in 1966, which featured a modernised, adapted script.

In Lerner and Loewe’s original, Jeff and Tommy usually appear as game-hunting tourists; this major new revival also features an adapted script by acclaimed Scottish playwright Rona Munro. Featuring a well-loved score of soaring songs including “Almost Like Being in Love”, and “The Heather on the Hill”, prepare to be bewitched by Brigadoon as you’ve never seen it before at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

Who are the cast and creatives of Brigadoon?

Danielle Fiamanya (Otherland, The Color Purple) and Louis Gaunt (Mary Poppins, Bridgerton) star as Fiona and Tommy, with further casting still to be announced.

Brigadoon is one in a long line of iconic musicals from the team behind My Fair Lady, Camelot and Gigi, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. It features original dances created by Agnes De Mille (Oklahoma!, Carousel).

Evening Standard Award-winning playwright Rona Munro (The James Plays, Watership Down) adapts Lerner’s original book, and Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar, In the Heights) directs and choreographs.
