What is Cirque du Soleil?

Cirque du Soleil is a Montreal-based performance group and trailblazer in contemporary circus performance. Combining classic circus skills, bold stunts, vibrant set design, gorgeous costumes and whimsical stories, their shows have been enjoyed by millions across the globe.

Cirque was founded by street performers Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix in 1984 and has won a huge number of awards including seven Emmys, three Drama Desk Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Their shows, including Alegria and Luzia, have been seen by over 180 million people in more than 450 cities on six continents, and Royal Albert Hall hosts the company every year for a special winter season that people of all ages flock to see.
