About Elf The Musical

Elf! is the story of Buddy, who crawled into Santa’s bag as a child and ended up in the North Pole. He was raised to be a proud, tall and slightly overenthusiastic elf, but when he discovers he’s actually a human, sets off on a journey of self-discovery. The big city of New York is calling him, but can he find his family and remind everyone of the true meaning of Christmas?

Elf! The Musical is based on the hit film starring Will Ferrell and returns to the West End to mark 20 years since Buddy appeared on the big screen.

It has a book by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan (Annie) and Bob Martin (The Prom) and songs by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).

What songs are in Elf The Musical?

Watching Elf! on stage is the best of both worlds, because you can enjoy the classic film’s most heartwarming and hilarious moments with irresistibly catchy songs added in. As Buddy sets off on his adventure and brings a bit of magic and happiness back to NYC, songs in the musical include “World's Greatest Dad”, “Sparklejollytwinklejingley”, “A Christmas Song”, “Nobody Cares About Santa” and “There Is A Santa Claus”.

Elf The Musical Cast

The West End cast of Elf includes many familiar faces from last year’s season including Georgina Castle as Jovie, Rebecca Lock as Emily Hobbs, Nicholas Pound as Santa, Kim Ismay as Debs, and Dermot Canavan as the Store Manager.

Casting for Buddy and Walter Hobbs is to be confirmed. In 2022, Buddy was played by musical theatre actor Simon Lipkin, who is known for Avenue Q and Rock of Ages.
