Showbiz is Skinner’s first UK outing since 2014’s Man in a Suit, which played to packed houses and enjoyed critical acclaim across the board. From a man described by The Times as “provocative, remorseless, and very, very funny”, audiences can expect Skinner's new material to be characteristically observant and brazen.
Skinner has been a mainstay of British comedy since 1991, when he won the prestigious Perrier Award at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has variously appeared as part of a double act with David Baddiel - the pair were the minds behind football ear-worm "Three Lions" - and as the host and guest of panel shows including Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You. He remains a hugely influential figure, with The Frank Skinner Show (1995-2005) widely considered to set the stage for the modern comedy chat show format.
Whether you know him from Room 101 or Man in a Suit, Skinner’s uniquely wry humour is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Showbiz plays at the Leicester Square Theatre from 3 June to 4 July 2019.
