Don’t Miss Lyonesse Tickets for A-List Drama

Stage and screen megastars Lily James and Kristin Scott Thomas reunite for mesmerising and gripping new play Lyonesse at the Harold Pinter Theatre this October. A reclusive actress re-emerges after decades with a shocking story to tell in Penelope Skinner’s latest work, which receives its world premiere in the West End. Running for a strictly limited season, this is set to be one of the biggest events of the year.

About Lyonesse the Play

This fiery, passionate play is the story of Elaine, a talented actress who has shied away from the limelight for 30 years under mysterious circumstances. Now it is time for her comeback to begin, and she has invited young film executive Kate to her remote Cornish home to help.

But as Elaine begins her story, who is really calling the shots? Can these two women own their narrative, or will it spiral out of control?

Lyonesse is an engrossing story for our times that asks difficult questions, and leaves audiences wondering who is at the steering wheel as the plot unfolds…

The Cast and Creatives of Lyonesse

BAFTA winner and Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas stars as Elaine, in her first West End role since she portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience (2015). Her many credits include Four Weddings and a Funeral, The English Patient and Ben Wheatley’s 2020 adaptation of Rebecca, in which she played Mrs Danvers to Lily James’ Mrs de Winter.

Golden Globe nominee Lily James co-stars as Kate. Her last stage role was in All About Eve, opposite Gillian Anderson, and she is best known for her vibrant presence in films such as Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and Baby Driver.

The creative team is led by playwright Penelope Skinner, whose other work includes the acclaimed The Village Bike, and director Ian Rickson (Jerusalem; The Weir; Rosmersholm). Rickson previously worked with Kristin Scott Thomas on a variety of projects, including Electra and The Seagull.
