Marvellous Tickets

Soho Place

London’s first new West End theatre in 50 years opens with a transfer of Neil Baldwin’s charming, larger-than-life bio-play.

A charming and joyful true story

London’s first new West End theatre in 50 years opens with an explosion of colour and fantastical storytelling in Marvellous - a success story that’s almost too brilliant to be true!

Growing up in 1950s England, Neil Baldwin was encouraged to keep his expectations low. But Neil wasn’t one to give in to underestimation. Hitchhiking across the country, becoming a famous clown, getting an honorary degree from Keele University, or even earning a spot on the Queen’s New Year Honours list: Neil’s irrepressible spirit means his life has been anything but average.

Topped off with a stint as Stoke City’s kit man and accepting a BAFTA for a film inspired by his escapades, Neil became a local hero who proves that life really can be marvellous if you believe in yourself.

Neil Baldwin’s Marvellous play premiered at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, his hometown, and now transfers to the brand-new Soho Place Theatre in London. It is written by Baldwin and Malcolm Clarke, and adapted for the stage by Baldwin and Theresa Heskins, who also directs.

Discover a life lived sensationally with Marvellous tickets; this funny, uplifting and inventive show is truly one of a kind.

Had no background knowledge of the show but it was fun and lighthearted and heart warming. Lots of silliness, a feeling of inclusion and strong message throughout. Brilliant small cast , excellent show
