What is the play Mary Page Marlowe about?
Told over the course of 90 minutes, this breathtaking new play tells the story of one woman’s life in a stunning, non-linear form.
All Mary has ever wanted is an ordinary life, but when her marriage falls apart, she must begin again. Leaving her home town in search of a fresh start, Mary is forced to make difficult decisions for herself and her children. As time rewinds and the action skips forwards and backwards, spanning the decades from infancy to old age, it’s revealed that there may be more to Mary than just the ordinary. As the pieces of her life come together in a mosaic of moving scenes, we learn just how the past may shape your future.
Mary Page Marlowe premiered at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre in 2016 to critical acclaim, before later transferring Off-Broadway. This production marks both the play’s UK debut and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon's London theatrical debut. “Beautiful and affecting” (New York Times) Mary Page Marlowe is an unmissable production - secure your tickets today.
